How Thai Numbers Work
A quick reference — not a grammar lesson. Pronunciation varies naturally by speaker and region.
Once you know สิบ (ten) and ร้อย (hundred), larger prices fall into place quickly. Why is 21 ยี่สิบเอ็ด and not ยี่สิบหนึ่ง? Because Thai shortens หนึ่ง to เอ็ด when it sits after a tens value. Same rule for 31, 41… and any price ending in 1.
